Permanent Limited Duty Process
Phase One
- Upon Completion of PEB Board, you must receive an UNFIT for duty findings for Combat Wounded(C/W) Initial PLD process to begin.
- Do not sign your PEB findings until you speak with your local Career Retention Specialist. If your intentions are to stay in the Marine Corps under the Combat Wounded PLD program you have options!
- Once you sit down with your local CRS, you must write up your Initial C/W PLD request letter for MMSR-4.
- It should take a few weeks to hear back on the initial status of your C/W PLD package. Upon return you should receive an Ill/Injured, C/W EAS pushed out up to 3-6 months to give you ample amount of time to conduct phase 2 of the PLD Process.
Phase Two
- Discuss new MOS options with your Career Counselor that would be conducive to your injuries. MOS options can be found in the MCO 1200.17A MOS Manual.
- Write your professional letter to CMC with three MOS choices that you are prequalified for.
- Get Command Endorsements.
- Gather your PEB findings, Dictations, and any other documentation needed for Expanded PLD Process before sent off to MMSR-4.
